Oh, that liberal media bias, as found in an article on
the metastasizing federal deficit:
"Some rank-and-file GOP lawmakers expressed concern that the burgeoning deficit is happening under the watch of the Republican Party, which came to power in Washington preaching fiscal restraint and less government."
"Under the watch", indeed. However did this happen when they controlled both houses of Congress and the White House? Who did this when they weren't looking? They want answers!
Admittedly, this quote comes in an article that points out the lunacy of the Republicans' don't-tax-and-spend plans, but I found the wording odd.

File under "Things I never thought I'd read", from an article on "spam rage" (emphasis mine):
"Douglas Mackay, president of DM Contact Management, which works for Albion Medical, a firm advertising the "Only Reliable, Medically Approved Penis Enhancement" ... said his firm does not send spam but blamed a rival firm which he said routes much of their unsolicited bulk e-mail through Russia and eastern Europe. Mackay said such firms gave a bad name to the penis enhancement business."

Microsoft is pledging $500,000 for help in tracking down the makers of the SoBig and Blaster viruses. This is part of their $5,000,000 narc-on-your-virus-friend program.
I'm disappointed they didn't use those millions of dollars to pay some programmers who understand software security better.
Although, I guess they couldn't probably fix all their security holes with that much money, so maybe it's an attempt to be more economical in solving this problem.
Still, I'm reminded of other ridiculous attempts to solve problems by not solving them, such as the narc-on-your-neighbor/potential-terrorist TIPS program. Which, you know, pretty much ended terrorism as we know it.
