odds and ends, part 2

Maybe it's the state of things in the world these days, but I just haven't found myself having much to say. But that never stops a blogger! Accordingly, here are some links that have been stuck in my head of late.
The first, Modern Humorist's movie trailer cliche theater is simply one of those "ha ha, it's funny because they observe things so well" items. The music selections in this clip are outstanding, especially the last one.
I was also highly impressed by Modern Humorist's summer movie songs from last year. Not only are the lyrics humorous (cf. the end of "I Want My Own Country Too"(MP3 format)), but the music is eerily spot-on (cf. the number of key changes in Disney's "The Perfect Storm"(MP3 format)). Such ridiculous attention to detail! And I even found myself singing these songs days after having listened to them. Maybe I just need to get out more.
While I'm shilling for Modern Humorist, I might as well point out that their Star Saga bit also made me laugh a lot, because deep down I am a nerd. Or maybe just a dork.
Speaking of transition phrases, there is proof that my job search could be worse in "the Skeletor Job Hunt". Other cartoons from Monkeys and Robots amuse me similarly, but are less, um, mature.
But if there's one link I want to leave you with today, it's this: Weiner Dog Races (sadly recently Flash-ified). Spend some time watching a few of these races; if you think you get it, then please explain it to me. Part of me wants to think it's all some very clever joke, but I don't think it is. It's just a lot of, um, weiner dog races.
So let me know in the comments if you have any all-time favorite links that you've been keeping to yourself. Because, you know, there's a real dearth of entertainment in this country right now.

In the "sermon on the mount", Jesus said that to look at a woman lustfully is the same as committing adultery, making them both sinful. I'm not saying all pictures of naked women are meant to cause lustful thoughts, but anything you could call porn does.
On a different note, I feel like I don't really get #lost or memepool. I would expect the latter to be a listing of current memes, ala Blogdex, but it seems to be more along the lines of "here are links I like". #lost seems to be even more of that. Just a bunch of links. Is it that the links provided in each case are interesting, or is there something else?
Also, Amar, could you give me an example of a livejournal page that has editable comments? Can a person only edit his own comments, or are they all editable? Is my comment system hard to use? What could make it easier?
Are there other questions I could ask? What about this one?"

livejournal lets you edit your own comments, or at least delete them, but now that i think about it, you have to be logged in to do it. and i dont think you should make people have to login. actually maybe you could have a comment preview, like there was/is on lowfashion? i dunno, it might be too much overhead though. in general i think comments work pretty well, it's just that i messed up links and wished i could go back and fix them. maybe you could have a login process and logged in users could then edit their own comments... egads though, it's just a frickin blog. that sounds like overkill. i say, leave it as is. now i know how to make links so it's all good, as they say.
memepool and #lost are nothing more than "hey, check this out" lists. they are good if you're surfing the web with time to kill. of course, it's unclear whether surfing the web with time to kill is a healthy state of affairs."
