Les Cottrell, assistant director of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, on the new internet speed record:
"Imagine ... being able to download two full-length, two-hour movies within a minute. That changes the whole idea of how media is distributed."
That sound you just heard was all the folks at the MPAA calling up the people at the RIAA and asking them for advice.
I don't know why everybody always talks about high-speed data transfer being a boon to doctors. It might be some day, but we all know it'll first be a boon to some long-distance, data-intensive form of porn.
